WHAT WE LOVE

Located in an early-20th-century landmarked row home, AIR MAIL Newsstand is the first physical footprint of the AIR MAIL universe in New York City. AIR MAIL, a weekly digital magazine was established in 2019 by Graydon Carter, former award-winning editor of Vanity Fair and Alessandra Stanley, former foreign correspondent and critic for The New York Times.

AIR MAIL Newstand offers books, periodicals, gifts and special programming. International publications are featured at the front of the store with a reading area and bookshop at the rear. Throughout the shop custom-designed cabinets showcase an interesting selection of gifts, speciality, and branded goods curated by AIR SUPPLY, the e-commerce platform of AIR MAIL. The coffee bar, situated in the center of the space, is operated by longtime collaborator Flying Coffee, with drinks served in custom Donald Robertson-illustrated cups.

“I know that it’s slightly nutty for a digital enterprise to open a newsstand,” said Carter. “But despite the doldrums the print business is in, we still love magazines. And books and great coffee!”
