WHAT WE LOVE
Clarke's Bookshop was established on Cape Town's Long Street in 1957. Located in corner shop of a pretty Victorian-style building with an intricate wrought-iron balcony, Long Street is often compared to the French Quarter in New Orleans. Founded by Anthony Clarke, Clarke's Bookshop started as a second-hand bookshop and began specializing in Africana in the 1970s, gradually expanding the section to encompass books on both Africa as well as South Africa. There is a room dedicated to Africana and the store supplies titles to local and international libraries.
"New and secondhand books on Southern Africa, maps and prints, general secondhand books."
