Du Pain et Des Idées uses the finest ingredients, mainly organic, to craft delicious artisan bread and pastries. Specialties include chocolate-pistachio escargots, fresh apple turnover, baker’s flan, orange blossom brioche and the famous “Pain des Amis”, bread of friends. The bakery was opened in 2002 by Christophe Vasseur, an award-winning self-taught baker and author who teaches bread making workshops after-hours in the bakery.

Du Pain et Des Idées is located nearby the Canal Saint-Martin in a historic listed boulangerie dating back to 1875. Many of the original late 19th-century details are intact, such as the painted glass ceilings, beveled mirrors and ornate facade.
