East Village Hats was founded in 2016 by milliner Julia Emily Knox. FIT-trained milliner, Julia, took over Barbara Feinman Millinery with whom she worked, a hat company that was established in 1998. At East Village Hats a small team of milliners handcraft the hats on the premises using traditional tools, methods and materials.

East Village Hats offers an assortment of handmade hats for both men and women, as well as bridal hats and headpieces, and the restoration of vintage hats. The hats are made on the premises in the store's workshop. The wide range of styles for every occasion include felt fedoras, straw boaters, wide-brimmed sun hats, and cocktail fascinators. To complement the hats there is a selection of vintage pins and hat boxes. There is a full calendar of workshops teaching hat making skills for all levels and variety of styles.
