WHAT WE LOVE
With five bookstores in New York City independent bookstore, McNally Jackson, was established in 2004 by Sarah McNally. Nolita's Prince Street was the first location however after 19 years of trading moved up Prince Street to a larger premises at number 134 in neighboring SoHo.
In January 2018, McNally Jackson opened a second bookstore in Williamsburg, followed by a bookstore in the Seaport district of Manhattan in 2019. In 2022 McNally Jackson opened in Downtown Brooklyn and their fifth location opened in the Rockefeller Center in 2023.
bookshops offer a wide range of general fiction and non-fiction titles. Each bookshop has its own personality and offers a wide range of general fiction and non-fiction titles, events, and membership benefits. The Williamsburg store has a delightful children's section complete with castles; the Seaport location in the historic Schermerhorn Row building, built in 1811, boasts a charming coffee shop/wine bar; the Downtown Brooklyn Citypoint bookstore has soaring bookcase wrapped around a central staircase; and the Rockefeller Center location is an expansive 7,000 square feet in the former Time & Life building.
McNally Editions, the publishing arm of McNally Jackson, offers seasonal releases of "hidden gems" in paperback.
Sarah McNally is also the founder of popular New York stationery shops Goods for the Study which offers a selection of their stationery goods in McNally Jackson bookstores.
