Located in an iconic listed Georgian building in London's Spitalfileds dating to 1790, Nagare Coffee opened in January 2023. The name comes from Japanese for flowing river, inspired by Bruce Lee's famous line "Be water, my friend...Be formless, shapeless, like water."

Nagare Coffee offers baked goods and pastries by Mahali & Co, coffee tastings by monthly guest coffee roasters, ceramics by London-based potter Kimberley Chan and hosts art workshops and exhibitions.

"Be water, my friend...Be formless, shapeless, like water."; the line directs to a state of mind and body which is flexible, adaptive, and open-minded. This is the inspiration and the motto of the coffee shop, to strive for excellence, yet to keep our mind open to new tastes, forms, and ideas. We design our space and products in line with this philosophy - neutral and minimal; a place like a calmly flowing stream, where people can rest, reflect, and recharge.
