A flower, plant, and coffee shop, PlantShed is a family-owned business. The original PlantShed on Amsterdam Avenue on the Upper West Side is a multi-level store with a rooftop greenhouse that opened in 1981. Now under the helm of the third-generation, Eric Mourkakos has added coffee into the mix and has successfully expanded Plantshed's footprint opening stores in the East Village, Nolita, New Jersey, and a second Upper West Side store.
