WHAT WE LOVE

Established in 2004, Studio Carta brings together Italian-made ribbons, scissors, paper, and desk accessories in a beautiful light-filled studio in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Each collection is thoughtfully designed or selected by founder Angela Liguori, whose deep appreciation for Italian craftsmanship, beautiful materials, and the art of everyday objects is at the heart of the studio.

Products designed by Angela and made exclusively for Studio Carta in Italy include a rainbow of 100% cotton signature ribbons, complemented by novelty and specialty ribbons. Scissors, desk accessories, and stationery sourced from Italian artisans complete the carefully curated collection.

THE SHOPKEEPER

Studio Carta was founded by Roman native Angela Liguori, whose love of paper, ribbon, and craftsmanship began in childhood as the daughter of a dressmaker.

From studying Renaissance art history and bookbinding in Bologna to working directly with artisans and manufacturers in Italy, Angela has always been drawn to the beauty, character, and artistry of things made by hand.

Today, that same sense of wonder and appreciation for craftsmanship can be found in every detail of Studio Carta. Angela works closely with Italian manufacturers to develop the studio’s exclusive collections, while a carefully chosen selection of tools and materials celebrates the work of traditional artisans.

What began with a love of beautiful materials has grown into a vibrant wholesale and retail business, alongside workshops, collaborations, and creative events—all reflecting Angela’s belief in the pleasure of making and using beautiful things.
