WHAT WE LOVE
Bonnie Slotnick Cookbooks is a treasure trove of antiquarian and out-of-print cookbooks interspersed with vintage cookware, kitchen linens, signs and kitchen paraphernalia. postcards. Thousands of books, menus, advertising booklets are housed in this bookshop located in the basement of an East Village building with a charming back garden.
Bonnie Slotnick established her business in 1997, opening her first shop in the West Village in 2000. A freelance editor, Bonnie's passion for cookbooks blossomed from a side gig in the 1980s when she sourced books for the Upper East Side's Kitchen Arts and Letters. In 2015, when her West Village lease ended, she reopened in her current location in the East Village. The larger space affords Bonnie Slotnick Cookbooks the opportunity to host literary and culinary events.
Usually open 1:00 – 6:00 pm, six days a week (with the closed day varying from week to week). Please check the website for weekly variations to the schedule. Also open by appointment.
