WHAT WE LOVE

Clic is a photography gallery, bookshop, interiors, and clothing shop with stores New York, California and St. Barths. Founder, retail veteran Christiane Celle, has had an illustrious career and her latest shops, Clic gather together all her passions, displayed beautifully in a brightly lit spaces.

Founded in 2008, Clic started as a curated selection of affordable photographic prints, and art books. Customers started asking Christiane for interior design advice when purchasing the art, and so she introduced some of her favorite home products into the mix. The brand kept growing as Christiane added more to the assortment and opened more shops.

The homeware is displayed in richly textured and layered vignettes and the clothing has an easy casual, bohemian vibe. Soho and East Hampton have dedicated home and fashion stores whilst the other shops carry a selection of both fashion and home decor.

"By partnering with artisans from all over the world, Clic’s unique and one-of-a-kind pieces elevate the everyday."

THE SHOPKEEPER

Her former brand Calypso, expanded from one shop in St Barth’s to 34 shops throughout the US a decade later. After selling Calypso in 2007, Christiane knew she wanted something smaller and more intimate for her next venture. Christiane was raised in the French resort town of Cannes, which is where her story with shops begins. From the time she was a student she always worked in retail. Moving to New York in the mid 80’s, she loved the years she spent working as a fashion stylist with Norman Parkinson, Arthur Elgort and Gilles Bensimon. She travelled to Japan and throughout America developing product and sourcing vintage pieces for shops in Paris. Christiane loves nature, and has always loved St Barth’s so in the early 90’s she decided to move there and open a shop. She imported product from France and designed and developed her own brand, Calypso, in India. Moving back to New York, to raise her sons, she opened Calypso shops in East Hampton and Nolita, the first of her 34 shops. After selling Calypso Christiane decided her next venture would be on a smaller scale so she could enjoy spending more time with her family. She is inspired by travel, past and present. Her trips to Italy, Kenya and Dubai, and weekends spent in the Catskills and San Francisco. The assortment of furniture, textiles, art, and apparel that she has selected for Clic reflect her diverse influences and are incorporated into her inspirational lifestyle concept shops.
