WHAT WE LOVE
Postcard Teas, with its classic black shopfront in London's Mayfair, was established in 2005 by Timothy D'Offay. The name, Postcard Teas, was chosen to reflect the extensive travels undertaken sourcing the wide variety of their teas. Known for sourcing teas directly from small farmers with micro farms averaging five acres, in 2008 Postcard Teas was the first tea company in the world to put the maker’s name and location on their teas. In 2012 they stopped retailing any tea grown on plantations based on the decision that small producers are better for the people, the local economy, and the planet.
As a result of Postcard Teas unique approach and expertise they have become the supplier of teas to many fine UK and European shops and restaurants as well as their unique brewing methods being adopted by Michelin starred restaurants for their soft pairings.
Timothy's fascination with tea began whilst he was living in Kyoto, Japan. On his return to London he started importing tea in the late 1990s and opened East Teas at Borough Market with partner and tea expert Alex Fraser. Today Timothy leads a diverse team with specialties in the different tea regions of the world.
