Violet is a bakery-café in East London founded by Claire Ptak in 2010. A former pastry chef at Chez Panisse, California native Claire has authored several baking books including the newly-released Love is a Pink Cake . Moving to London in 2005 she got her start by selling her home-baked goodies at a stall at Broadway Market. She is known for using fresh, seasonal and organic ingredients and creating cakes as stunning as they are delicious. In 2018 Violet became world-renowned as the chosen baker of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding cake.

As well as slices of cake and cupcakes, Violet serves a variety of sweet treats including cinnamon buns, chocolate rye brownies, flourless chocolate cake, cookies, macaroons, and seasonal treats like mince pies, Christmas cake and Easter hot cross buns. Alongside the cakes and a small menu of savory items, Violet offers All Press coffee and Postcard teas.
