Founders, husband-and-wife team, Ivan Martinez and Christan Summers, started their plant business, Tula, in a 1987 Chevy box truck named Tulita. Building on the success of their business, Tula found a permanent home, Tula House, in a former Brooklyn warehouse in 2018.

The century-old former tool and die factory has been transformed into a design-driven plant shop. As well as healthy and happy plants, Tula House has an assortment of handmade planters, soil, tools, books and Tula branded tees. The lush space added the "Arid Room" in September 2019, a room with ideal conditions to showcase their exotic and rare collection of succulents.

Tula House offers plant trade-ins, in-store plant therapy, video tutorials, and ships plants nationwide. On their website their is handy plant educational materials and an informational library of their plants and at-home care. Tula also offers installation design and maintenance for homes and businesses.

Since opening Tula House the Tula truck now dutifully serves another plant business in Memphis, TN.
