WHAT WE LOVE

The steep curve of Cockburn Street in the centre of Edinburgh's Old Town is bookended with two Milkman coffee shops. The original store at number 7 has retained the store signage from a former life as a sweet shop in this historic building. Further up the hill number 72 is a turreted delight. Both locations afford plenty of great coffee and views of busy Cockburn Street.

Established in 2015, The Milkman borrows its name from the founder, Mark Donald's great-grandfather who was the last horse-drawn milkman in the small town of Huntly in Aberdeenshire. The Milkman's silhouette is incorporated into the brand and can be found branding merchandise such as keep cups, pins, and enamel mugs.

The Milkman serves coffee from local and international roasteries with fair and sustainable practices. Enjoy some pastries from local bakeries that include vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free choices.
